| Observations : | Raleigh's only monthly Sunday night for Gothic/Industrial music & Fetish play. Held at Underground in the former location of the Old Bar, the club itself was recently renovated to give it a very nice gothy feel. The building is about a hundred years old and used to be a factory - some of the old equipment is still in place adding an industrial flair to the decor, which is reminiscent of an old London pub. The crowd is young, attractive, and very friendly to newcomers. The owners are friendly. Some bands that are played: And One, Apoptygma Berserk, Beborn Beton, Blutengel, BiGod 20, Cruciform Injection, Depeche Mode,E-Craft, Funker Vogt,Front 242,Front Line Assembly, Genitortures, Hocico, Haujobb, Icon Of Coil, Informatik, KMFDM, L'ame Immortelle, Lords Of Acid, Laibach, Manufactura, Neuroticfish, Nitzer Ebb, Omnibox, Psyclon Nine,Project Pitchfork, Ravenous, Seabound, Skinny Puppy, Suicide Commando, Terrorfakt, Velvet Acid Christ, VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Wumpscut, X Marks The Pedwalk, Zeromancer, just to name a few. Music requests are welcomed. |

| Directions : | FROM DURHAM, RTP, CHAPEL HILL, GREENSBORO (OR POINTS WEST) Take Interstate 40 East towards Raleigh. As you approach Raleigh, take the Wade Ave. extension (exit 289). Then take Blue Ridge Road exit (Art Museum, Carter-Finley Stadium)At the top of the exit hill, take a rightAt the third light, turn left onto Hillsborough Street. Go approximately 3 miles. You will pass Meredith College on your left, the NC State campus on your right. As you pass the Bell Tower on your right, continue on for two and a half blocks. Hillsborough Street will veer sharply to the right and becomes Morgan Street. Underground / Goodnights is a brick building located 150 yards ahead on your right. There is a sign facing you on the side of the building as you approach. Parking is to the side and rear of the building. Entry to the club is in the back.FROM SMITHFIELD, FAYETTEVILLE, GOLDSBORO (OR POINTS EAST) Take highway 70 West towards Raleigh. Pick up 40 West outside of Raleigh. Take the Gorman Street exit. Turn right at the stop light onto Gorman Street. Go to the next light and turn right onto Avent Ferry Road. At the 2nd light, make a right onto Western Blvd. Take the second street on your left, Ashe Avenue, at the Circle K. Follow Ashe Ave. to the light, turn right onto Hillsborough Street. Go around the curve. Underground / Goodnights is 150 yards on the right. Parking and entry is in the rear.FROM NORTH RALEIGH, WAKE FOREST, (NEW YORK CITY, CANADA) Take North Hills or Falls of the Neuse to Wake Forest Road. Turn right (or straight) on Wake Forest Rd. to Capital Blvd. (look for sign that says "Downtown"). Follow Capital Blvd. to the tall round Clarion hotel. Turn right on Edenton Street. Count five stop lights (5th is at St. Mary's School) but don't turn at them. One block afterwards, turn left at the traffic island onto Morgan Street. Underground / Goodnight's is 150 yards on the right. Parking and entry is in the rear. FROM WILSON, ROCKY MOUNT, ETC. Take Highway 64 West into Raleigh. Inside Raleigh, Highway 64 becomes Edenton Street. Stay on Edenton past the Capital. Edenton merges and becomes Hillsborough Street. Continue until you see St. Mary's College on your right. Take the next left at the traffic island onto Morgan Street. Underground / Goodnight's is 150 yards on the right. Parking and entry is in the rear. |
