I hadn't realized that two of these are from the same pub, Omnibus.
Can anyone say if their other stuff is worth checking out ?

For info on banshees, the best book I've found is one entitled
"Traces of the Elder Faiths of Ireland". Written and published
at the turn of the century (1898 as I recall), so could be tough
to find. I found it in the Folklore (Irish) section of the
library of George Washignton University in Washington DC.

The author examines Ireland for evidence that the pre-Christian
ways live on. Entire chapters on (for example) stone worship,
water worship. Discussion of funereal practices. Fascinating
stuff. Two or three pages about the banshee. The author
leaves the impression that you do NOT want to ever hear one.
Foretells death. Banshees in one area would take up the cry
of other banshees in other areas.
