yes i saw this. they were interviewed during the lollapalooza tour.
they were in a bar in arizona and mtv showed clips of old videos INCLUDING
swimming horses (why they didn't put it on the tape is beyond me) and
creatures' right now.

Yes, I saw the MTV feature... pretty well done, I thought. Mainly because
they resisted the temptation to gloss it up too much, and instead showed
a) Banshees chatting and b) videos. Don't remember many specifics, sorry...

Actually, no, it *was* a special show about the Banshees. One of
their "Rockumentary" programs... 1 or 1.5 hours long. I'd say it's
definitely worth looking for, while your cynicism about MTV is well-
justified, somehow they managed not to screw up this one. Possibly
because they didn't have enough interview footage to madly jump back
and forth excerpting tiny out-of-context quotes from random sources?
They need to be deprived more often, I was impressed.
Alas, I have no tape of it, as my VCR was obsolete and couldn't record
certain cable stations. Now, of course, with no TV or VCR, I couldn't
care less.

As someone pointed out, it was on MTV, or more specifically, 120 Minutes.
It was 1hr long and was aired in the middle of the show (12:30-1:30am) for
some really odd reason.
It really wasn't that much of a push for the Lolla tour but a chat
with the three about their career then and now. They stepped through
their lives with clips of their videos (including Miss The Girl).
Pretty fun.

No, it really wasnt anything incredible. Siouxsie gave a bit of an
explination of "Kiss Them For Me", but thats about all I remember.
